Meet Simon Memmott

Next on our #BehindTheScreens introduction list is Bay of Plenty Energy Account Manager, Simon Memmott.

Energy-savvy Simon began his journey at YHI 10 years ago in what is still his current position (primarily focused on sales, technical support and assisting customers in adding value to their businesses), but had 26 years of experience in the electrical sector under his belt before landing the role. Simon is a registered electrician with advanced trade qualifications and several minor diplomas, and his sales training started in electrical wholesale.

Simon’s interests could be considered to span from one end of the scale to the other, from science fiction to classic American cars, with the latter extending to Simon working on getting his cars going and attending car shows in his spare time. Aside from cars, a large part of Simon’s time and his heart are dedicated to his two beautiful Maine Coon cross cats (one is pictured below, with the photo capturing their special bond). Throwing it back a few years, Simon previously held a golf club championship title at 21, and played 5 years of interclub golf in the Christchurch region.
